The YMCA at Virginia Tech an independent non-profit organization, is one of the most respected and progressive campus YMCA programs. A large part of this is due to the long-standing and mutually beneficial relationship that exists between the YMCA and Virginia Tech. I had the opportunity to work with YMCA for 2 years as a graphic designer intern, then later on, a Visual Marketing Coordinator. My job was to sketch and design advertisements such as posters, postcards, and webpage banners for future events using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign.

A celebration the beauty and diversity of handmade art at the 47th annual YMCA Craft Fair! Each year, artisans and craftspeople from the New River Valley and eastern United States come together and offer a wide variety of items including jewelry, ceramics, metalwork, glass work, fiber arts, painting, and so much more. Here, I have designed advertisements for this events such as postcards, logo creation, and photography.

The YMCA at Virginia Tech coordinates YTOSS, one of the largest sustainability initiatives on campus. Each year, the program collects gently-used items from the dorms during the student move-out days. The items are then made available to incoming students during the fall move-in sale at Cassell Coliseum on Virginia Tech’s campus. ALL the profits support the YMCA Student Programs.
